Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
ZevGeeks ("we", "us") is a digital agency headquartered in Glasgow, United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect through zevgeeks.com and our careers portal at careers.zevgeeks.com, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is the data controller?
ZevGeeks is the controller for personal data collected through our websites. For anything in this policy, contact us at hello@zevgeeks.com.
What we collect and why
- Enquiries. When you contact us, whether through the site, by email or on a call, we collect your name, email address, and whatever you tell us about your project. We use it to respond to you and, if we work together, to deliver the engagement. Legal basis: legitimate interest, then contract.
- Job applications. When you apply for a role through careers.zevgeeks.com, we collect the details you provide: name, contact details, portfolio or CV links, and your application answers. We use them solely to assess your application and manage the hiring process. Legal basis: steps prior to entering a contract. Unsuccessful application data is retained for up to 12 months in case a suitable role opens, then deleted. Email us if you would like it removed sooner.
- Technical data. Our hosting providers (Vercel, Cloudflare) process IP addresses and request logs to serve the site, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Legal basis: legitimate interest. We do not currently run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on zevgeeks.com.
Cookies
Nothing that is not strictly necessary runs until you allow it. The first time you visit we ask, and until you answer, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that cannot identify you and our advertising tags do not load at all. You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page, which is also how you withdraw permission you have already given.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies that let us count visitors and see which pages get read and where people leave. If you accept marketing, we load the LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft Clarity, which tell us whether our advertising reaches the right audience and let us watch anonymised recordings of how the site is used. Legal basis for both: your consent.
Strictly necessary cookies run regardless, because the site cannot work without them. A session cookie is used in our staff content editor, which is not accessible to visitors, and the careers portal sets cookies needed for candidate accounts to function, such as signing in and keeping your application session active. None of these are used for advertising.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of processors to run our services: Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (DNS and security), Supabase (database, including job applications), and Google Workspace (email). Each processes data on our instructions under their own data processing agreements. We do not sell personal data, ever.
International transfers
Some of our processors store data outside the UK (for example in the EU or US). Where they do, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep data
- Enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we enter a contract.
- Client records: for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by UK tax and accounting law.
- Job applications: up to 12 months after the process ends.
- Server logs: retained briefly by our hosting providers for security purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and you can object to or ask us to restrict processing. Email hello@zevgeeks.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, for example by adding analytics, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged clearly on the site.
