CHROME EXTENSIONRecord Google Meet calls, saved right to your computer.
ZevRecords is a free Chrome extension that records your Google Meet calls, the tab video, remote audio and your microphone, and saves each one straight to your Downloads folder. No account, no cloud, no limits.
Free. Works on Chrome 116+ (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Why ZevRecords
100% local
Recordings are written straight to your Downloads folder using Chrome's own download system. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or sent to a server.
No account, no paywall
No sign-in, no subscription, and no free-recordings meter. Install it and start recording. That is the whole product.
Records everything you need
The meeting video, remote participants' audio, and your own microphone are mixed into a single .webm file.
Simple side-panel controls
Start, pause, resume and stop from the Chrome side panel, with a live timer and a red REC badge on the toolbar.
Auto-start, if you want it
Turn on auto-start when you join a call to record hands-free, or keep it manual and start each recording yourself.
Built-in library
Past recordings are listed in the side panel. Open a file or reveal it in your file manager with one click.
How it works
- 01Install ZevRecords from the Chrome Web Store and grant microphone access on the one-time setup page that opens.
- 02Join your Google Meet call as you normally would.
- 03Open the ZevRecords side panel and click Start recording, or enable auto-start to begin automatically. Chrome asks you to click the toolbar icon once the first time you record a tab, to unlock capture.
- 04Pause, resume or stop from the side panel. A live timer shows elapsed time.
- 05Find your recording as a
.webmfile in your Downloads folder, and in the panel's Library where you can re-open it any time.
A note on consent
Recording a call may be subject to your organisation's policies and to local law. ZevRecords does not display an in-meeting notice to other participants, so please announce that you are recording before you start.
