ZevRecords
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 August 2026
ZevRecords is a Chrome extension that records Google Meet calls and saves them locally. This policy covers everything the extension does with data. It is separate from the ZevGeeks website privacy policy, which covers zevgeeks.com.
ZevRecords does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any data. There is no backend server, no analytics, no third-party SDK, and no account or sign-in of any kind.
What the extension accesses, and why
- Google Meet tab video and audio. Captured only while you are actively recording a call you started, using Chrome's
tabCaptureAPI. Used solely to produce the local recording file. - Microphone audio. Captured only after you grant one-time permission, so your own voice is included in the recording.
- The recording itself. Written directly to your computer's Downloads folder using Chrome's
downloadsAPI. It is never uploaded, synced, or sent anywhere. Once saved, ZevRecords has no further access to the file. - Session state, for example whether a recording is in progress. Stored locally in
chrome.storage.sessionand cleared automatically when Chrome closes. Never transmitted.
Third parties
None. ZevRecords does not integrate with any external service, API, or analytics provider.
